Today we really dug into numbers 2-5.
Partitioning numbers
Using 2 sided coins and math talk. "2 and 3 make 5"
We tried to represent our learning on paper. This was very exciting to watch and a little bit tricky. Students were encouraged to show their learning in a way that made sense to them. It might look like a big mix of numbers but if you look closely you can see their brains at work and they were able to explain their thinking to me.
We also played a new game called, What is hiding? See is your child can show you. All you need is 5 blocks or objects.
