Monday April 4th is Orange Shirt Day!
Important Notes
* Volunteers, if you are interested in volunteering in the classroom (reading with students, helping out with Home Reading exchange) please begin the CBE volunteer clearance. You can contact our amazing office admin staff to help you begin this. Once you are cleared we can get that started :)
* Top Banana - Landscape/Outdoor space. These will be used several times over the next couple of months. Kindergarten is in charge of the next Sacred Teaching of Wisdom for April. The deadline to have your child's photo in the video is Wednesday at 3pm. As always, Top Banana entries are in the Google Classroom.
* Please no toys at school. I have had a community circle talk with both classes about this and I have let everyone know that toys brought to school will be considered donations to my dog :)
* What we have recently learned, in true 2022 fashion, is that there will be an online and an in-person assembly. AM students will have an opportunity to present the kindergarten Seven Sacred Teaching of Wisdom to the school in the FIRST in-person assembly in 2 years! The PM has been helping to create all of the important pieces that will go into the presentation. Here is a song both classes are practicing, with actions! Please make sure your child is wearing their orange shirt on Monday April 4.
Today was a day full of new routines! We now begin our day with a small group working with Mrs. Hughes while everyone else works in their investigations book. The investigations book is a free book where students are encouraged to write and draw as they like. Sometimes there will be inspiration set out and sometimes it will all come from their imagination. We also started the daily message and a poem!
Mrs. Hughes read this book to the PM class (AM will read it tomorrow) we followed it by a great discussion around the way we treat others and the way we want to be treated:) Ask your child how they want to be treated and cared for?
We also read a new addition to the Pout Pout series! We LOVE these books!
