Can you match your colour to something on the playground?

                                                                            'The' 

We have been really practicing reading and spelling the sight word 'the'.  Mrs. Hughes prints this word everyday when printing "The Top Banana is" and a student helps to spell it each day.  We also find it in our morning/afternoon message of the day.  See if you can find 'the' around your house and in your favourite stories, ask your child if they can spell it, you might get a surprise :) 

Our message of the day contains a lot of learning.  We are beginning to recognize what a word vs a letter is, uppercase vs lowercase, finding letters and letter sounds (can you find a letter that makes the Ssss sound, can you find a word that begins with T?), finding small words that show up often. There is often a 'what' question included in our message. 

Important Upcoming Dates:

Throughout October we will be exploring pumpkins.  If you are able to donate any pumpkins to our classroom that would be amazing. We are looking at different sizes, shapes, colours followed by some fun experiments and learning on October 19 - 20
