Expect the Unexpected

Whoa, that was an unexpected and exciting afternoon in kindergarten.  We had an unplanned fire alarm.  You should be very proud of the way your children handled the quick exit from the school with very little understanding of what was happening.  As much as I normally like to prepare kinders for this, it was wonderful to see how amazing they did.  I was so proud of the way they followed my instructions and got to a safe space.  WAY TO GO!!!

Our table time activity today was cutting lines! It is a great intro to our work this week with lines as well as a good chance to go over cutting tips!
* Ask your child if they should have a chicken wing while cutting ;)

Our learning job today was an art piece focused on following the directions shown by the teacher.  We used black and white photos of our faces with pencil crayons! Make sure to return all those demographic forms so I can post faces ;) I'm still missing a few.

Today we started our TOP BANANA OF THE DAY! Today the Top Banana was Mrs. Hughes.  Everyday one student will be selected by draw (that way if someone is away their card goes back in the pile so no one misses out). The Top Banana will get to come up to the front, write their name and share their favourite colour, activity and food as well as their age.  They will be the line leader and will help with small tasks around the classroom.  It's always a hit!

Friendly Reminders
* Please pack at lease 2 masks and identify a place/container/bag for dirty masks
* Continue to return demographic forms
* See last weeks post for scholastic orders information! I just put in my order and I got a few good books for $4 and $6

Thank you for all of your support and understanding getting this year safely started!
