 You know it's going to be an exciting when these are you tools for the day.

And this is how your teachers are dressed :)

First we worked on 'noticing'
  • I noticed the big one is dark - Ian
  • I noticed all the top things are brown - Brock
  • I noticed all the little pumpkins - Everett
  • I noticed different shapes - Paityn
  • I noticed that the smaller pumpkins are in the middle - Jake
  • I noticed three are different - Aria
  • I noticed different roots - Lukas
We sorted them in various ways, by shape, colour and size

We made some patterns

We wondered . . . does a pumpkin float?

We cut and smelled a pumpkin.

And we dug in, well most of us.

We described what it felt like
* gooey
* slimy
* ropey
* cool
* yucky
* disgusting
* like noodles
* squishy

We made a witches potion and watched it erupt! It was very exciting.

We made stamps out of pumpkin pieces and used them in our visual journals.

We chose our favourite pumpkin activity of the day and drew a picture for our visual journals

We fit one last experiment in at the end of the day.  We mixed vinegar, food colouring and pumpkin seed and we made predictions about what we will find tomorrow.

Pumpkins, pumpkins, I'm going to dream about pumpkins! We fit a lot in to one day today.  I am going to bet your children will come home exhausted, I know the teachers will! We will be accepting coffee donations to make it through the week, just kidding ;)

Another fun filled kindergarten day tomorrow with costumes or PJ day!
