Today was an exciting day in kindergarten as we begin our journey into exploring and learning letters and letter sounds.  Today was the letter Ss.  We sang a song about a snake, had fun making the sound, made the letter with our fingers (starting at the top of the letter), came up with words that started with the letter Ss. We are becoming Ss experts :) 

We also made our very own spider and practiced printing Ss on his legs. We used the spider to sing the songs, There's a Spider on the Floor and The Itsy Bitsy Spider.  They came home today.  

How to extend your child at home? 

• Take your spider on hunt around your house looking for words that begin with Ss
• Name your spider. Mine is Silvia the Sneaky Spider 
• Try to sing the songs at home
