It was so nice to see everyone after 4 days away. I loved hearing about all of your creative adventures during our community circle share. We continued to talk about the virtue of the month, Self Reflection. We also had a chance to explore our new at home reading program, Epic books. The more I explore the more I like it. Please take some time to follow the instructions in the picture below and explore with your child.
Once you have signed up you will find a bar like this at the top of the screen.
F&P: These are the levelled books and are perfect for building confidence and building those beginning reading skills.
Read To Me: This is similar to Raz-Kids. These stories will read aloud and highlight the words as they go. I like read through once like this and then again with the volume off.
Videos: Tons of educational videos
We are almost through our story round of Top Banana. I have uploaded the newest Top Banana assignment in our Google Classroom. Please take a look ASAP. Children both love and look forward to the opportunity to participate. It is also an important opportunity to share how they are unique, build those oral language skills and support them to feel more comfortable sharing in front of the group.
Welcome to another round of Top Banana!
Students are asked to share a photo of a landscape/outdoor space that is special to them. It needs to be a place they feel connected to and is part of nature. We discussed possible places. It could be their backyard, a field or playground they play at, a campground/cabin/vacation spot that they return to many times.
Questions to prepare for Top Banana share:
1) Where is this place?
2) Why is it special for you?
3) What are some of your favourite things to do in this space?
Wednesday is wear green for St. Patricks Day!
