Sorry, I forgot to hit publish yesterday.  Here is the blog for Wednesday and Thursday.

PLEASE READ ALL THE WAY TO THE BOTTOM FOR SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT VALENTINE'S DAY AND A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL!

Happy Wednesday! Today we learned all about the letter Bb. We had fun pretending we were at the park playing with our bat and ball, making the bbbb sound. Ask your child what words they can think of that start with the letter Bb.

The AM class was read, Flat Stanley and the Firehouse, by Mr. G. We discovered that most of us have seen a firetruck before and some of us have even been inside one.

See you tomorrow!

Thursday

Mrs. Gull was away today so the AM students did not get to exchange books.

Today we finally got to paint our bowls! They will now be fired again and this will be quite the process as only a couple can go in the kiln at a time. I loved seeing the creativity come out as they painted their bowls.

We also continued with out Goldilocks setting, it is taking us some time but they are looking wonderful.

Having two teachers in the room means extra small group work time! Today Ms. Russell spent some time word building and letter printing with small groups!

Valentine's Day

While Mrs. Hughes and Ms. Russell LOVE treats like cupcakes and cookies, we are not allowed to hand out treats to students.  This is a good time to remind you of our severe EGG and CASHEW allergy in our classroom.  Thank you for always being mindful when you pack snacks to help keep us all safe!

Can you believe we’re already preparing for Valentine’s Day?!? We will be celebrating and having some fun on Feb 14.

So, what do you need to know?

  1. On Feb 14 come dressed in Valentine’s Day Colours (red, pink, purple, white, love/heart themed etc)
  2. If you choose to participate we will be distributing Valentine’s Day cards during class time.
    1. Students can distribute Valentine's Day cards.  If you choose to participate, please make sure to send 22 cards so that everyone gets one.
    2. Please do not address them to individual students, instead,

TO: MY FRIEND

Final Days to Register for 2023/2024 Kindergarten

Dear NBS families,

New Brighton School’s kindergarten registration deadline is approaching quickly. This year we are going to be capped at 95 students for the 2023/2024 kindergarten program. If we exceed that number of registrants we enter into a lottery to determine who is accepted. The lottery occurs next Wednesday, February 15th meaning the last day to register your child for the lottery is Tuesday, February 14th. This includes all students planning on attending kindergarten next year regardless of whether they have older siblings attending the school currently or if they are hoping to attend kindergarten in a CBE alternative program.

Please click here for information and access to the registration process.

Please click here for information on the lottery process.

If you have any questions please contact the school at 403-817-3516.

Thank you
