Looking forward to some exciting days in Kindergarten! Mark your calendars.

Wednesday October 21 is Wear your Favourite Colour day! We are going to be having some math fun.  Send your child dressed from head to toe in their favourite colour! Mrs. Hughes has been shopping for purple pants to complete the colour day outfit :)

Halloween you say? We will be wearing costumes on Thursday October 29th. Please refer to Mr. Murphy's admin message for further guidelines. If you chose to skip the costumes, come dressed cosy and have a pajama day instead, who doesn't love a day in their PJs? Please keep any accessories that go with the costume home and no food or items for sharing please! (October 30 is a PD day and no school)

Top Banana Round #2 begins tomorrow.  Have you checked out our Google Classroom? Lots of funs stuff in there, including our Top Banana folder.

The kindergarten teachers post a weekly workout.

Fun Fantastic Friday was a hit this week with fall art.  We have been working a lot on our fine motor skills. Fine motor skills are important for printing, cutting and independent self care tasks.  We work on strengthening the smaller muscles in the hands.  You can practice this at home with playdough, plasticine, tongs, picking up and sorting small objects. On Friday we practiced with some ripped paper art and gluing tiny pieces of paper in a defined space.

We also painted a fall tree. First we painted the trunk.  After letting it dry we used sponges to create the leaves. (another great fine motor task)  They look fabulous!

Working on printing our names using uppercase and lowercase correctly.
